Usually, RoboHelp formats links with relative paths (like "../getting-started/orientation.html"), but your topic links may be using absolute paths instead (like "C:/Projects/XYZ Application Help/getting-started/orientation.html"). An absolute path would break if any of the parts of the path aren't the same on the second machine. Have the person using RH look in the HTML code at a few of the links in a few different topics and see if they're using relative or absolute paths. I'm not sure if there's a way to tell RH to do one or the other.

That's the only possibility I can think of at the moment. If that's not the problem, try visiting the RH forums on Adobe.com. Some very knowledgeable people hang out there.

We have started using RoboHelp to write help for a new software system. As directed we only have one person using the Robohelp package. However we have found that we cannot save her work then successfully use it on another machine. When we open it on another machine it indicates that all the topics have broken links. This seems to be a serious bug in the Robohelp. Are you familiar with this problem?
It basically means that if we would have a problem where we would have to do the work on another machine we would have to do a repair of broken link for every topic. Not impossible, but clearly this can't be how it was intended. What do you think?

Great info in both parts of this review, thanks!

I'm curious - were able to find a workaround for assigning the same map ID to multiple topics?
